Andrew Wong, Chef proprietor of Michelin starred A.Wong in London’s Victoria, is the latest to join the all-star line-up at Bloomberg Arcade, the pedestrian dining arcade running through the site of Bloomberg’s new European headquarters in the City.
Yet to be named, the 3,330 square foot site will be housed at street level within the prestigious development and will offer a premium casual, all day dining menu based on Andrew’s creative interpretation of classic Chinese dishes.
Andrew said “I’ve been considering the idea of somewhere we would be able to open all day for a while. When the opportunity for the Bloomberg Arcade came along, we knew it would be perfect.”
This will be his first restaurant since launching A.Wong in 2012 and will open in partnership with White Rabbit Fund.
The site is scheduled to open in Spring 2018.

Andrew Wong Born and brought up in London, Andrew Wong has been immersed in the world of restaurants since childhood. Despite spending a large proportion of his younger years at his parents’ restaurant, where he worked both in the kitchen and front of house, Andrew was encouraged to pursue a more academic career and left school to study chemistry at Oxford University and then Anthropology at the London School of Economics. However by 22, Andrew had chosen a career in hospitality and enrolled himself in a London culinary school where he specialised in French cookery and culinary science. Technically accomplished but dissatisfied with his knowledge of true Chinese cuisine, he left London in 2010 and set out on a working tour of China. His first move was to Qingdao in Shandong province studying at the Sichuan Culinary Institute, before gaining more practical experience in banqueting and the specialized techniques of Chinese roasting. Then onto Beijing to the ancient skill of traditional Peking duck, before heading to Hong Kong and it’s famous Cantonese dim sum. Fascinated by the cross-cultural and incredible variety of Chinese cuisine, Andrew opened A. Wong with his wife Nathalie in 2012 with a menu that celebrated all regions of China. In 2015 he released his debut book, A.Wong -The Cookbook and in 2017 was awarded a Michelin star in The Michelin Guide Great Britain|Ireland 2018.

Bloomberg’s new European headquarters Opening on the 24th October 2017, Bloomberg’s new European headquarters occupies 3.2 acres between St Paul’s Cathedral and the Bank of England, providing approximately 1.1 million square feet of office and retail space. Two nine-storey buildings clad in sandstone are divided by Bloomberg Arcade and flanked by public squares featuring artworks that pay homage to the river Walbrook.
